NRX is Newcastle Racing’s 10th entry into Formula Student and third electric car. The team consists of 9 4th year and 12 3rd year students from the School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering. NRX has been redesigned to focus on reducing cost and ease of manufacture, whilst maintaining high performance in all dynamic events. To achieve this, the team has focused on cost effective manufacturing techniques to design mass optimised parts. With Class 1 entry planned for 2016 NRX is set to be Newcastle Racing’s most competitive EV entry to date.
