Team Profile:

NRX is Newcastle Racing’s 10th entry into Formula Student and third electric car. The team consists of 8 4th year and 17 3rd year students from the School of Mechanical and Systems Engineering. NRX represents an ambitious weight reduction of 150kg on last year’s Class 1 entry. To achieve this the team has focused on exploiting new manufacturing techniques to design bespoke parts such as CFRP leaf springs and custom battery packs and reduce reliance on bought-in components. With Class 1 entry planned for 2016 NRX is set to be Newcastle Raning’s most competitive entry to date.
