Team Profile:

This year will see LJMU Racing Team entering Class 1 for the fifth year running. The previous four years have seen the team develop in to a team capable of producing a race winning car. This prior experience has been implemented in to the car we will be racing in 2014.New members have been encouraged to enable a positive transfer of knowledge from senior members.
Attention has been paid to a few key areas. Firstly the powertrain, the driveability has been improved due to a new inlet cam profile giving less immediate torque. The intake system has been fully optimised using simulation to match the new cam and custom exhaust. The inlet runners will be manufactured by rapid prototype to allow the actual shape to be as required.
This year LJMU has been able to complete more driver training than usual. This is partly due to our new full motion simulator and also due to us being able to practise events we have previously been unable to. This is thanks to our newest sponsor Cammell Laird. This training along with improved driver interface will see our lap times decrease.
