Team Profile

We are Imperial College London’s alternative fuel racing team – Imperial Racing Green. The team specifically looks into developing more sustainable racing alternatives to the conventional petrol IC powertrain. We will be delivering a vehicle concept, called EV2, based upon a simplified electrical powertrain design including some innovative features. Developing previous mechanical iterations, the team this year has concentrated on delivering a high voltage battery pack (340 V max) to be packaged aggressively within the car for better dynamic performance. Various mechanical iterations have been made to accommodate this pack such as the ‘underslug’ pedal box.
We intend to deliver a simple and robust vehicle, that combines high performance with low manufacturing complexity and costs.

Additional Information for Commentators: The team has a simple motto for EV2 “Simplicity is King and Reliability is Queen”.
