Don’t you get it? Sakic is still just as responsible for the roster decisions. Even though he’s no longer the GM & nobody knows how involved he is still day to day.

It’s purely coincidental that there’s been an immense drop off in the quality of the roster decisions since CMac took over….

I think Jeremy is right frankly. Everything CMac has done ended in the Avs being in a worse position, aside from the goaltending situation. I keep coming back to this series of moves done while he was at the helm. Byram for mittelstadt. Then mittelstadt prospects and picks for coyle. then coyle and wood for prospects and picks. So essentially the Avs had byram, coyle, mittelstadt, Wood, prospects, and picks go out to get back a prospect and picks out of the first round. All im saying is if Sakic was still the GM there is no way we would wind up here, no shot.

Great logic. If anyone points out, backed up by examples, logic & tangible results. That the Avs current GM isn’t very good at his job. They’re being “negative” or they’re a troll. Gotcha.

Please do tell why after 4 years & a series of bad trades, bad contracts, goofy decision making, etc. Why anyone within the fanbase should have a rosy, positive outlook as it pertains Chris Macfarland?

The off – season to this point has been pretty lousy. He literally had his entire top 9 set in stone. And voluntarily chose to blow it up to rid himself of Wood. Then signed a 40 year old to what will amount to 4 million dollars. Who isn’t good defensively & doesn’t make them better or tougher to play against. And that’s without even delving into all of the other shitty moves he’s made.

Cue somebody now replying with “but he fixed the goaltending”! Yes…only well after when he should’ve. And as they say the exception proves the rule, or in this case point.

How dare you question the logic of one Chris Macfarland?! Every trade & acquisition he’s made has always panned out in the end. He wouldn’t just trade away one of the best 3rd line centers in hockey just to get rid of a bad contract that he was the architect of (as oppose to just attaching a pick to it). Only to clear some cap space to go out & sign a 40 year old defenseman who really doesn’t address a direct need. No sir! I for one will not stand for the slander! He’s got this….

I’m in literal awe of the amount of trade scenarios you put out into the world literally underneath every article Aarif posts.

I imagine you sitting in a room all day with sticky notes & index cards thumb tacked to the walls. Similar to Jake Gyllenhaal in Zodiac.

I love this, but one major, major problem. Seattle is not that stupid. Wright is tracking to be a 1C or 2C, and Evans will be a top 10 Dman in the world. They wouldn’t make this trade if the other stuff was going the opposite direction.

Was it just to get rid of Woods? Yes cap space, but for what? What’s left in the free agency.
