He has continued to bring speed, toughness, and good defensive play. The issue this year was him playing center and mostly 3C. It was not a knock on him defensively in the position, but his offensive abilities. Great to see him in his more natural position. He has taken over Cogliano’s role on the 4th line, defensively and on the PK. He and O’Connor have formed a great pair together.

No mystery there. A full effort every time he steps on the ice. A “worker bee” who isn’t afraid to mix it up and play physical. All out every shift. No short changing. I’m very happy for him and look forward to his continued success in the playoffs.

I think he’s really become a fan/coach/teammate favorite, precisely because of all the things you mentioned. As a fan, when you see him giving everything he has on every shift, blocking shots, throwing his body around with no regard for his own health and safety, it makes him a really easy guy to root for. As such, when his work results in a goal, I feel like I get even more excited for him than other players. Really glad to have him on the team, and would like to keep him longer if possible. Also credit to the coaching staff, because playing him at center for much of the season made him so much more versatile moving forward.
