My guess is, it will either go to Toews or O’Connor, with my money on the former. Toews hasn’t been shy in holding himself and his teammates accountable in the past, and has been an assistant captain before when Makar has missed time. That said, OC has consistently shown impeccable leadership qualities throughout his time here, and would frankly be the odds-on favorite to be the next captain were it not for Makar being the obvious choice. Could go either way, I suppose, but definitely between those two guys.

I remember a handful of erroneous plays. He’s always seemed willing to hold himself accountable, so it’s not a surprise to me that he did after the Winnipeg game.
