Nothing happens right for the Avs unless the goaltending situation is fixed. I don’t know if Bednar is trying to pat himself on the back or is just trying to downplay replacing your entire goalie tandem for whatever reason.

The Avs don’t get to concentrate on playing consistently or striving to improve if they are constantly worrying about their goalies performance. Georgie and Justus were like a box of chocolates. You’d never know what you’d get. Add Georgie’s temper and slamming of his stick to that tandem capable of giving up multiple goals in a short period of time and the Avs were skating on eggshells. When a big save was needed, Georgie & Justus failed. It’s no coincidence that the team took off after the Wedgie acquisition and then the master stroke, the MacKenzie Blackwood trade. When you have faith in your goalie to keep the game close, it does wonders for every other aspect of your game.
