I didn’t get to see the game. All the talk is about Wedgie’s injury, but were all the goals against good goals? How was he playing before the injury?

For me, and I gather many other people, the problem I had with Benson was the classless celebration. Maybe Kelly saw it differently, but fron most camera views, the collision was accidental and just an unfortunate part of the game. It happens. I can even defend the goal, because he was playing to the whistle (or lack of one), and trying to put his team up further in a suddenly tight game. That part of it was critically the refs’ fault, so again, Benson gets no beef from me there.

It was him celebrating like he’d just won the Stanley Cup, while Wedgewood was literally screaming in pain behind him, that I take issue with – and obviously Girard did too. He broke an unwritten NHL rule of not celebrating in the wake of an injury, and I truly believe someone else on another team will take him to task on it; maybe even a guy I hate like Jamie Benn, who has played with Wedgewood before, and is well versed in the players’ unwritten rules. We’ll just have to see.
