Do you know which teams’ prospect pools are rated worse than the Avs? The Lightning, Vegas and Panthers. Stands to reason because these are teams that trade away picks and prospects to win within a window. Know which teams have the highest rated prospects? The Sharks and every other team that have been awful and have been collecting high draft picks. Having few prospects, and low rated ones makes sense. The worrisome part is the Avs development track record once any player is in their system

Is there are teams that on paper have a potentially WORSE pool of prospects than the Avs.

I’d still think you’d have to rank them last. If for no other reason than even if they potentially have more raw talent than a few other clubs. I’d still have way…way more faith in any of the following FL, Tampa or Vegas. To take some of their middling prospects & potentially turn them into useful NHL players.

That’s the other part of this. It’s not just the players they’ve drafted. It’s the misuse & inability to develop ANY of them into players over the last decade, outside of guys taken in the top 10 – 15 of the draft. I’m not counting Malinski because clearly Cornwell should get the credit for him.
