I keep reading that the Avs are going to be targeting forwards – but considering that most if not all of these prospects including BB are 2+ years away from contributing at a high level, and with the Avs ready to contend now, it makes more sense to me to take EJ’s replacement here and try to pick up the forward (read Panerin) in free agency.

Personally, I like Turcotte but good dmen are hard to get. Did he have 71 points in 67 games or 71 games. I’m a little bit confused on that one?

Amazing players, but come playoffs, they’ve got a whole other gear. I’m not in any way comparing their game, just their playoff performances. IMO, there’s not a whole lot of “flash” with BB. Having said that, the Avs would be NUTS not to potentially ice the best blue line in hockey. While not necessarily a highlight reel guy (does from time to time), he seems reliable on the back end and an absolute dynamo puck mover and skater (bigger, stronger Sam G).

Makes sense. I forgot how much I missed RyanO until I watched the Finals.

People who are smarter than me on prospects keep saying Turcotte has some ROR in him, hockey-wise. I usually need to see guys play in person before I feel like I know what I’m talking about

Nashville has had a nice run with three or four stud defensemen. Girard, Makar, and Byram would make a good foundation on which to build.

Byram then Turcotte. Don’t really care after that, but Dach and Krebs would probably be the best. Not impressed with Cozens, and I think Caulfield benefitted a TON from his teammates, don’t know how many of his goals he would have scored by himself. Still though, really can’t go wrong with any of those players.

The only wild card that I can see is Podkolzin. Do you think there is a chance that the Avs will get him in 4th? If not for the injury, wouldn’t be as risky of a pick that high, but definitely is as of right now…
