You’ve got to hand it to the Vegas Knights & Kelly McCrimmon. Their willingness to move on from “popular” players for the sake of winning or making the team better, and manipulate the cap rules is not only bold but genius. Their CHL/WHL/OHL heavy roster has brawn, skill/will, and genuine toughness.

It’s not surprising only 3 guys with a negative +\- rating are Wood/Colton/Parise. That line has been quite poor lately. Duhaime moving back to the third and maybe Kovalenko if he ends up being as advertised should help Colton tremendously.

Based on the way he finished last season Makar was moved to the top line at UMass to begin this season and was even there during the Hockey East tiurnament. He was on the second line during the NCAA’s. I don’t see how he could get much of a bigger role anywhere else based on his production – 4-5-9 in 36 games.

Not that he needs anymore player of the month or player of the week accolades but for March MacK actually had (very slightly) higher points per game than McDavid and substantially higher goals per game.
