“We would like to reiterate the high regard we have for Samuel Girard, a defenseman whose professionalism, exceptional mobility, and consistent work ethic are valuable assets… which we are carefully evaluating as part of our long-term strategic planning.”

“While our organization has experienced significant roster movement in recent months, a reflection of our commitment to proactively adapting in a constantly evolving competitive environment, there is absolutely no intention to rush decisions regarding players of Mr. Girard’s caliber.”

“The public discussions surrounding his name should in no way be interpreted as indicative of any formal organizational direction, but rather as the natural consequence of a competent player generating interest from other clubs. He is neither a problem nor a solution, he is an asset.”

“As always, we will make decisions that best serve the interests of the club in the short, medium, and long term… while respecting our core values, contractual commitments, and the weather.”

You get a power forward that can play with colton and coyle and a Stud defenseman.

Romanov can replace manson.

If they can come to terms with Necas on July 1st then Drouin walks. If they they need to trade Necas, then Drouin comes back and slides into that top 6 role. That should leave enough space to bring in another middle 6 player (i’m thinking similar to Colton) who can slide up and down the lineup depending on situation.

And just resign Drouin to slot into Necas’ place on the top line? I read that Edmonton is looking for bargain top six wingers, if Drouin doesn’t re-sign here I just hope he doesn’t go play with that team.
