Ivan kovalenko malinski are mainstays.

The avs just need secondary scoring and can’t keep relying on the big dogs.

Makar and toews are the top dogs.

Malinski has shown glimpses of makar 2.0 but then he makes bone head defensive plays that cost them.

De Haan is just a plug.

Manson seems like he has regressed a little bit.

Girard has been off lately.

The avs need a younger manson and de Haan type player.

They have alot of puck moving dmen but they need some hard nose players to

They aren’t going to put Landy on the LTIR in the offseason when he plays this season.

It is clear that the AHL is not a good place to evaluate a player’s fitness for the NHL, especially for the Avs, who don’t ever seem to have a plan to get guys to the NHL even as role-players. They need cheap contracts moving forward so this is only going to help and maybe it pushes the Avs to work those younger players into the lineup more often. I feel really bad for Behrens getting hurt because that 6D is in such flux he probably could have gotten some games.

They did not do that with Ritchie. When Nichushkin returns, it will start pushing guys back down to the 3rd line and when Drouin returns, the top 6 is set. How would a 3rd line of Parker-Ivan-Kovalenko look, with Ivan as center? When everyone is healthy and most of the callups return to the AHL, would Ivan be a better choice than Wagner on the 4th line? If Ritchie is the possible 3C of the near future, then that would allow Colton to move to the wing.

One of those contracts will need to come off the books if the Avs want to extend Drouin & Mikko

I like that this next crop of prospects fit really well into bottom 6 roles a) because that’s where the Avs have opportunities for young guys and b) it sure would be nice to stop giving up assets to aquire bottom 6 rentals at the trade deadline

He is the biggest difference maker to the line up.
