Juice’s development so far has been consistently upwards. However, period three last night was a rough step back. The five hole third goal can’t happen. The team had to put up five goals to secure two points and the last 11 minutes was an unnecessary roller coaster ride. His size and good positioning are excellent, but he still struggles with lateral movement from time to time and some stick basics. Time will tell us if he is our future starter.

He’s had 4 starts, given up 9 goals and has a save % above .900. He may or may not be starting material yet, but his performance to date is more than good enough to be a solid backup or maybe 1B like Frankie.

Ken, Juice has looked to be the better goaltender so far this season. I did not see the 3rd period last night but think that Bedsie has the correct approach in rotating goaltenders and giving the nod to the one with the hotter hand making it a game-to-game decision. The good news is that the defense if playing much better in front and them and that Aaron’s “steakhouse dressing” comment becomes stale quite quickly.
