This is a future-oriented move that will benefit the younger players’ morale. The only way to truly know what we have in our prospects is to play them. It would be wonderful to uncover more Logan O’Connor types from our pool of prospects.

In reply to Ken. It might be a financial move. If that were the case though, why even bring him to camp at all? They knew what it was going to cost to sign him. I don't get the move. I don't see anyone currently who fits that 4C role. Wagner is an AHL guy, feel the same about Ivan (is he even a natural center?) Hopefully their plan isn't to put Parker Kelly @ center. The Avs need to stop trying to make wingers centers (Colton). Bellmare can still be an effective pk guy & win draws. The Avs need both of those attributes. It is a head scratcher. But not worth sweating over. It's still just 4C.

Wow very surprising Bednar moved on from a vet and a prior Av. Didn’t know he had it in him. Now hopefully Ivan or Pavel get their shot and we don’t bring in another late 30s guy way past his sell by date.

I am shocked, however, keeping PEB would have meant signing him. That would require another 780k minimum against the cap. Business decision imo.

That’s such a bummer. Hope he can catch on with another team, and if not then I hope the Avs can find a place for him on the staff somewhere either in player development or coaching. This guy is a lifer, he’s not leaving the game any time soon.

In reply to Sasha landprecht. Tynan is the definition of a small skilled forward. Dude is the same size as Sammy G and plays about as physical. Wagner and Pavel fit the bill for sure, but Pavel has been injured since rookie camp. I'd guess Wagner or Parker Kelly unless they go the waiver route.

Tynan wagner pavel fit the 4th line center mold then ivan. Ivan is too skilled to play 4th line minutes.

My guess is wagner will get the spot unless they pick someone up on waivers.

Count me among the surprised. Class act for spending time after practices giving faceoff tips to players he was competing with for a roster spot. A favorite of the coaching staff and teammates. My assumption is that he had trouble keeping up.
