It’s been 3 years. If they decide to stop humoring him they’re not going to face any penalty from the league. There’s no way he can play or more importantly pass a physical. I don’t even think the PA would file a grievance on his behalf. Everyone knows he’s done but him. Yet for some reason management is still allowing this charade to continue.

Landy isn’t holding anyone “hostage”; they’ve use his LTIR money every year at the TDL. There really isn’t anything else they can do until he makes the decision to never play again or give it a go, based on his injury status. If they “force” him to LTIRetire, there could be some serious cap recapture penalties so they have to wait.
