Colorado Hockey Now

We’ve got a lot to go over today. First, my 10 Observations piece following Game 6 has quite a bit of behind-the-scenes stuff from the postgame media availability. You can read that here to prepare for what should be a classic tonight at American Airlines Center.

One of the players who took off in Game 6 was Valeri Nichushkin. Colleen Flynn was all over that story postgame.

Also, here’s a deep dive into everything the Avalanche are battling against tonight. From Mikko Rantanen, another Game 7 against Dallas, Pete DeBoer, and more.

Stanley Cup Playoffs Recap

Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues: Connor Hellebuyck is probably going to win a second straight Vezina Trophy. And given the lack of Nathan MacKinnon being a finalist for the Hart Trophy, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s going to win that too. But in the playoffs? It’s just not working. For the seventh straight road game, Hellebuyck surrendered 4+ goals and watched the third period from the bench as his Jets lost 5-2 in a potential clinching game. Suddenly, the Presidents’ Trophy winners will need to play a Game 7 in the opening round on Sunday.
