But a well brined Olafsson won’t dry out in the oven and be more flavorful and juicy with a nice crispy skin.

‘with the Avalanche brining Fredrik Olofsson back up to the NH’L’. “Bringing” not “Brining” ☺

Newhook scored his 10th of the season for the Habs recently, if anything I would have thought that would have sparked him to appear. 🤣

Avs got: Sean Walker, for a while, and a 2026 5th. Philly got: 2025 conditional 1st and Johansen. So if Avs gave up the 1st for taking RJ off their hands, then they got Walker and the 5th as throw-ins? Walker was the key domino for the Mittlestadt – Byram hockey deal to go through with Buffalo. It was a complex 2 trade, 3 team, maneuver by CMac that filled a huge 2C hole and greatly improved the Avs roster. He received A to A+ grades on those moves by all pundits that matter. I see it like this; Philly wanted a 1st for Walker (DB quote in PHN) they got it, but CMac said you have to take the millstone from around our neck and throw in a 5th too. This trade may be a win-win for both clubs. It’s like the deal w/ Sabres – they are thrilled to have Bo, as they should be, and we are grinning ear-to-ear to have Mitts.

Too bad Alexander A has been absent. I would fully expect a detailed pile of rotting word salad as to why Compher should’ve been kept, followed by rambling off on a Newhook-Duchene-O’Reilly tangent…

Smart move by Briere. They can afford the $2.85M cap hit that results from Johansen being waived. Philly is loaded with picks for the next few years. Five firsts and five seconds over the next three drafts. They are in good shape to get about 5 games of playoff experience this year and almost their entire forward group is signed through next season.

Glad they did it, but it’s a shame that Ryjo cost the Avs a first-rounder. Had he been traded for a first back in the off-season, people would have rightfully seen it as a highly questionable move. Or had the Avs been able to get a third team in the trade with Nash and gotten more salary retention, burying Johansen’s contract in the AHL would have been less expensive. CMac made the best of a bad situation and he deserves praise for that.

I know a first round pick went his way also but thank goodness.
