Nikita Zadorov and all the Tampa boys have trained there for years.

Respectfully disagree.
Having lived in South Florida for quite a stretch, it is a well established fact that athletes (from all sports) flock to SoBe to party. As I stated, hopefully it’s not the case here.

I humbly suggest that before dismissing it as a throw away stereotype, you do a little digging to gather some facts. Who else is training there (and what time do they hit the ice)?

That’s a nasty stereotype. Players train all over the world, but very few are in Denver right now.

And much of that training likely takes place between 1a and 4a. Hope he’s not falling into bad habits already.

i would have been impressed if he had decided to train in Denver and focused.

Hope I’m wrong, but…..

That’s most definitely not true. By that metric you’re essentially saying Miles Wood would get 60 plus pts playing strictly top line mins on ANY team in the league??

I don’t think him or most 3rd line caliber guys could do that if you literally tied them to MacKinnon.

Ok..now that I re – read what he said. I see where I missed that. Still don’t see why that should matter though. As long as none of the bets were on NHL games.

I was never suggesting we put him on top line, or even top 6. I was merely pointing out that individual awards are totally Stat based and any team can pad the stats of a player by playing them lots of offensive minutes with top players. Just look at the Hart that Mack finally won. Bednar played him 25 minutes a night and for whole powerplays. Man won his trophy, team got nada. We could easily get Kovalenko or any other rookie the Calder if that is the goal. Why not I say? Cups are certainly not the goal anymore!

It wasn’t that he was betting. It was that he was giving his friends money to place bets for him while he was in Canada.

That really wasn’t much of an explanation from Pinto.

As long as they’re not betting on anything pertaining to their league. I don’t have a problem nor understand why I guy in the NHL can’t bet on say a cricket match if he so chooses. Silly me though for expecting anything to make logical sense in today’s world.

If any player that is NHL level skill, plays on the top line of ANY team in the league. They are getting 60+ points unless they are excluded from PP. With Mack and whoever Bednar sticks with him, it’s gonna push 80.
