Avalanche Open 2025-26 Season Regular Season on the Road

Published

on

The Avalanche will be part of a triple-header to open the 2025-26 NHL regular season on October 7.

Colorado will visit the Los Angeles Kings in the only Western Conference matchup of the night at Crypto.com Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. MT.

The Avs and Kings game is the third game of the triple header, which begins at 3 p.m. as the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers host the Chicago Blackhawks in their banner-raising game. The second game, at 6 p.m., will see Mike Sullivan and the New York Rangers host Sullivan’s former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, at Madison Square Garden.

This is the third season in a row where the Avalanche will be starting on the road. Last year they lost 8-4 in a high-scoring opening night matchup at Vegas, and went on to lose their first four games. Two years ago, Colorado was in L.A. to take on the Kings in their season opener and won 5-2. They started that season 6-0-0.

The complete 2025-26 NHL regular-season schedule will be released at 11 a.m. MT on Wednesday.
