Otter has been lights out and the only reason this series isn’t over. MB has to be as good or better than than him or we will probably be going home. The Avs statistically and by the eye test have been better in 5 of 6 games…net play has been the great equalizer…and MB was good the first 4, just not better than Otter except in game 4.

That said, they still struggled putting shots on goal on the PP. It seems that almost every time they get the puck, they first hesitate and look to pass, instead of just putting the puck on net. They too often try to pass through traffic, especially trying to get the puck to someone in front of the net. It has failed most of the time and will be near impossible on the bad ice in Dallas. Instead of passing to those in front, just shoot it on goal and let those in front go for the rebound. Both teams have talented offenses and good goaltending. Game 7 will be won on dirty goals, lucky bounces, and who is more determined to win the puck battles.

a) didn’t seem to have the puck much, but comes away with 4 points
b) shielding the puck from Girard to make the play on the third(?) goal

The guy just defies underlying stats. Many other Star players have been much more visible in this series, but Mikko is the one with the most points. How many times did we see that when he played for the Avs?

He was also mostly invisible in game sevens. Let’s hope that trend continues…
