Cardiff Racing is a 30 strong group of students focused on designing a competitive vehicle while having fun and showcasing engineering to the public.

CR13, the 13th car from Cardiff Racing is poised to be the best yet. They have proven that they are a strong team statically, coming away from last season with multiple awards. They have shown they are a fast team dynamically, setting sub five second skid pad times and top five autocross times, only to be hampered by a potent yet unreliable powertrain. This year they have addressed their weakest link by moving to the Triumph three cylinder engine. Notable improvements include: a bespoke hybrid monocoque/spaceframe chassis optimised for this new engine, reducing mass by 4kg; an electronically controlled clutch, allowing the driver to focus on driving; a more refined aerodynamic package achieving a Cl(A) in excess of 3.5; a rear heave spring to better support the downforce and a multitude of other systems tailored for the new engine. Cardiff Racing are better prepared than ever and look forward to challenging their colleagues to lead the UK teams.
