University of Leicester Racing comprises of 35 highly dedicated and talented students from various disciplines.

Having fielded teams at the last two Formula Student events, they have assembled the most experienced group of engineers the team has ever had. Their aim is to be among the top UK electric vehicle teams at Formula Student and to use the progress made their UOLR-17 as a launch-pad to further developments in the 2018 season. Utilising lessons learnt from the team’s previous two efforts, UOLR-17 employs digital electronics throughout the car to improve integration and has switched to a single accumulator from sidepods, to save on mass and increase efficiency of volume used. The team is also making use of sensors to feedback data to the driver and engineers using a Raspberry Pi 3 in the 3D printed steering wheel. UoLRacing would like to thank all of their sponsors, the University of Leicester and all those who contributed to help them raise £3000 worth of crowd funding, which was then matched twice to £9000. Their generosity is greatly appreciated.
