ASU Racing Team (ASURT) is a self-supporting team of over 40 multidisciplinary engineering undergrad students under professors’ supervision and the help of experienced alumni.

The team is divided into three technical sub teams, a management team and a business team. It was founded back in 2011 with a vision to revive the Automotive technology in Egypt. After getting Fourth place last year in FSUK – Class 2, and proving huge potential, it was time to bring our design to life and put it on the tracks.

Not only that, but we also challenged ourselves, like the pioneers we are, to design the first electric formula student car in the Middle East. As for Class 1, Our design target was all about simplicity, elegance, reliability and efficiency, especially when it comes to cost, manufacturability and ease of maintenance to suit our end consumer, the weekend driver. Improvements were added to reduce weight by 18% from past concept design, create an enlarged, and more ergonomically suited cockpit and streamlined body to decrease drag force, improve fuel economy and CO2 emissions. Our smart data acquisition system is also a step forward for the team. Our hopes are big! We couldn’t have reached this far without the guidance of our professors and sponsors: Arab Organization for Industrialization, El Zaharna Co. for Sheet Metal Forming & Exhaust System.
