BME Formula Racing Team was founded back in 2007 by a few enthusiastic students of the Technical University of Budapest.
Today it is much more than a small group of enthusiasts, it became a true university community. Students from different disciplines work together and give their all not only to design, build, manufacture and compete with the best student built car they can bring to life, but to help each other grow as young professionals with hands-on practical expertise thanks to the project to which they devote most of their time.
2015 marked a new era in the history of BME FRT when the team was reorganised in order to accommodate to a new ambitious vehicle concept. With initial prototypes since 2010 but fully committed to the electric drivetrain since 2012 the FREC-006 is the most advanced project of Hungary’s first Formula Student team to date with its four-wheel drive system and the in-house manufactured full carbon fibre monoqocue chassis. The car has largely been developed by newcomers to the team who brought a fresh, open minded attitude and were able to form a high-spirited close-knit unity. Cheer for us!
