Team Sleipnir Formula student team consists of 18 team members from school of science and engineering within Reykjavik University.
The team was founded in August 2015 by two mechanical engineering students who immediately began recruiting and set the goal to compete at Silverstone 2016.
The main design philosophy of the team was to build a simple and durable car to be able to spend as much time as possible testing the car and collecting data to see which aspects of the design need to be improved.
The team was divided into 5 different departments, drivetrain & suspension, body & chassis, engine, electronics and management.
Most parts on the car are machined in the university workshop by the team which gave the team members invaluable insight into how to optimize the process of design and manufacture of components for the car.
