UURacing is one of Northern Ireland’s few Formula Student teams.
Comprised of 25 members with a majority of the team being 2nd year student engineers. Students from all areas of engineering are included from Mechanical, Mechatronic, Biomedical and Technology with Design.
Our car is simple in design and cost efficient. The aim for the team was to take designs from previous years and strengthen all aspects, to create a stronger, faster, more reliable car than ever before whilst still adhering to a strict budget. We have addressed areas where our vehicles failed in the past, issues with cooling and final drive have been resolved. The team has also planned much longer testing sessions in order to make sure the car will succeed at Silverstone.
The team is organised in a way that no matter the position there is still a way to contribute. The team is split into 4 sub-teams, each sub-team reports to a Team Manager and the 4 Managers report to the Team Leader. This team structure means that everyone contributes in their own way.
