Established in September 2014, Bristol Electric Racing is entering its inaugural Class 1 entry at Formula Student UK 2016.
The team entered Class 2 for the first time in 2015 and placed an impressive second place overall, including a second place in the design competition. This success has been built on during this inaugural build year, whereby the design and concept has been improved and finalised and the team has produced our first ever car.
With the aim of maximising mechanical and electrical simplicity and reliability whilst simultaneously producing a car manufactured to the highest standard possible, the students at the University of Bristol have worked tirelessly throughout the year to realise the BER-01. The hope of the team is that this car will help to build the foundations for Bristol Electric Racing as a successful team within the Formula Student competition and begin a legacy of high performance vehicle production for the students of the University of Bristol long into the future.
