The FST 06e was designed with reliability as a main philosophy. After a few reliability problems which kept our 5th prototype from achieving its potential, the team decided that a step back was required in order to take 2 steps ahead. This meant simplifying the design and increasing the safety factor for most parts. The result is a car which breaks down less, and in which faults can be found and repaired easily.

Our team is comprised of roughly 40 Mechanical, Electrical and Aerospace engineering students, organized in 7 different areas – Management, Chassis, Suspension, Aerodynamics & Cooling, Vehicle Dynamics, Electronics and Powertrain. Our main goal is to increase our performance – both in technical terms and in terms of soft skills and team management. Logistics aren’t easy – Portugal is further from most FS competitions than most European teams – but we usually have fun in the trip.
