Team Profile
UH Racing has taken part in every single FSUK event held, with this year seeing the use of our brand new car, UH18. It is the 18th Class 1 combustion car to be produced in the workshop at the University of Hertfordshire.
For 2015, the team are putting great emphasis on designing a car that will perform well in all events, both static and dynamic. This has involved focusing on cost reduction whilst also reducing weight and increasing reliability of the car.
Due to the reliability issues witnessed with our 2014 car, an external charging solution is being used on UH18. This will ensure that we have more than enough current whenever the car is running.
At FSUK last year, the team also had a problem with the electronic shifter that was used. The installation of a pneumatic shifter on UH18 will ensure that the car can always shift gear, maximising both fuel efficiency and performance.
The team this year consists of 33 core members who have helped in the design, manufacture and testing of the UH18 car. We are also in the privileged position of being partnered with some of the best companies in the UK.
