Team Profile:
We are KA-RaceIng e.V. – Formula Student Team of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Since 2006 we build racecars for the Formula Student competition.
From 2010 on we stand for “One team, two cars” designing, manufacturing and competing with a combustion car and an electric one.
Our new combustion car – the KIT14c – comes with a self-developed turbocharged two-cylinder engine (together with joanneum Graz racing and AMG). 2014 we switch to a 10″-wheels based suspension. The aerodynamical package got extended to side-wings and was improved once more.
Our team consist of about 60 students and is organized like a small business unit. The so-called assembly including the executive board and all subteam leaders takes care of the overall team.
We would like to thank all our sponsors and supporters for the enormous help throughout the whole season.
Additional Information
Our Drag-Reduction-System does not only look good – it also works! You can see proof of that in the data regarding the speed on straights but also in corners. If we open the flap during a turn the car immediately oversteers, assuring an entertaining sight.
