Where do u get best case January for OC. 5-6 months was the timeline given. Thats mid to end of November. Coyle was straight trash in the playoffs. Mac got ion his ass because of his effort, not his talent. $5.25m is a ridiculous amount to pay for the return. Rip CMac for making the trade in the first place, but give him flowers for dumping him and Wood. We can do much better with the $7.7m than those 2.

That looks good except for Kubel who skates faster than he thinks. He dropped the cup. I liked and will miss Miles Wood (except for his cap hit) but he did the same things just a lot less often than Kubel.
Ivan, Prischepov and possibly Foudy may have developed enough to pad out the bottom 6.
At 23 Foudy has serious grit, fearlessness, speed and skill, not always all at the same time. If he ever fully puts it all together at the same time he has middle 6 potential more than bottom 6.
Coyle never looked like he was really going to mesh here.

1.43 PPG in 7 games at juniors and 0.2 with USA team. Meh… it’s about the cap.

Maybe this had nothing to do with the trading of Coyle but I saw Mac get into it with Charlie during a game and Coyle looked pissed and quite dismissive of MacKinnon. I never heard what the beef was about.

Careful, the ninny wankers will minus you for making the disney on ice comparisons. That being said, still much truth to it.

Yes. I referenced this a few weeks ago too. I honestly wonder if that did leave a sour taste in Coyle’s mouth. Especially considering he’s played with really top shelf teammates/locker room guys in Chara, Marchand & Bergeron.

As talented as Mack is he really does seem like a bit of a prick. I get being hyper competitive & wanting to win. But his in game hissy fits are ridiculous. And Bednar doesn’t have the stones to reign him in.

I’m sure we all remember years ago when Mack absolutely showed up & embarrassed Bednar in a game on the bench.

Mack embarrassed Coyle on national TV. He is a veteran with a family. He doesn’t need to play with guys like that. If he wanted out, Avs were going to accommodate him. Add all that to our need to open cap space with the Wood move. This trade makes sense for everyone even if us fans don’t find it sexy. Its hard to win with unhappy players.

Actually, I don’t think he cares about winning more Cups enough to ask for a trade. He’s a Penguin for life.
