Team Profile:
UPS Racing Team represents Universidad Politécnica Salesiana from Ecuador, consisting of 19 undergraduate students of mechanical automotive engineering with the same passion, for cars. As a first year team, our commitment is to obtain a highly reliable vehicle in the presentation of static events and to develop an efficient cost – benefit vehicle.
Simplicity is our catchword, because we believe in a complete study of materials and manufacturing processes, resulting in designed parts, which are easy to build and install, such as the impact attenuator produced with an unusual material as polycarbonate.
The goal obtained during the development of this project was to expand the vision of the automotive world by students who respect the environment in which we live. Also to promote engineering features and good engineering practices. In a competitive environment since this is an international competition where each member finds an ingenious solution to each of the constraints imposed by competition and the environment where we work.
Additional information
We are the only Latin American team in the competition. We use a Yamaha FZR 600 1993 engine which has a completely modified ignition system and fuel injection system to obtain a competitive engine.
