Team Profile
Team Bath Racing 2012 is an all new team of 25 talented Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical and Aerospace Engineering students from the University of Bath working full time on developing a new car for the 2012 competition. The students of TBR’12 have a wide range of experiences encompassing many practical and theoretical areas of engineering and racing. Building on the success of last year’s entry, the team aim to be competing for the win this year.
Team Bath Racing pride themselves on producing a lightweight spaceframe car, giving the optimal in performance and cost. The continued use of the Aprilia RXV550, with a range of powertrain updates, ensures the ultimate combination of weight saving and performance. Careful use of carbon composites ensures maximum performance improvements for minimal cost increase.
Our main driver, Fred Martin-Dye, is currently racing in the Formula Ford championship.
We operate a completely new team each year with no common team members between each years entry
During the course of the design and build the team have simultaneously completed a complete revamp of our build room and facilities.
We will also be competing in Austria 2 days after Silverstone.
