Toews, while still having a good year, took a dip in scoring. It does feel like Toews passed up too many chances to shoot the puck and to give the puck back to Makar or MacKinnon. Other than Makar, it seems the rest of the defense refuses to put the puck on net. Too often the team defers to Makar and MacKinnon, instead of shooting when they get the chance. Part of it can be the Avs lack of net front presence and the ability to get rebounds. Toews and Girard on PP2 and often just pass the puck back and forth, instead of just putting it on net.
