Team Profile
We are e-gnition Hamburg, Hamburgs first electric formula student team. As a newcomer Team we aim at building a race car in the short time of a little over one year.
While concentrating on building a ready-to-race car, we still work on implementing research subjects like, functional surfaces such as “shark skin”, or the implementation of a highly connected electronic data system with the ability to access in real time from outside the car and thus allow real time analysis of the cars performance.
To achieve these outstanding key features of the first e-gnition racecar, we work closely with the university’s institutes as well as the industry. Together with our main sponsor NXP Semiconductors, we implement the company’s products and develop a new usage of such in an electric racecar.
e-gnition Hamburg stands for the vision of building an electric racecar, regarding environmental aspects without suffering in driving pleasure or emotional attraction. We combine the best local technologies of aircraft engineering, material sciences and automotive electronics into our first racecar. We are looking forward to show the results of one year’s hard work and feel the power of electric race driving!
e-gnition Hamburg is a newcomer team from Hamburg Germany. The racecar was built in only one year. The team consists of 50 students of the Hamburg University of Technology, from “the most beautiful city of the world” Hamburg.
