Team Profile

Clear River Racing is the Formula Student racing team from Karlstad University, Sweden. This year we are competing with our fifth consecutive car, the CRR12. The team consists of 36 students divided into seven sub-groups, each responsible for their own area of the car. The major differences from previous years are the addition of a new group – Drivetrain Development, carbon fibre suspension rods, a biodegradable impact attenuator core and an overall more aggressive look. Furthermore, more extensive calculations and simulations have been taken into consideration when constructing the exhaust and intake systems to increase overall engine performance. Traction control combined with an in-house constructed pneumatic gear shifting is something we think will further increase the performance of our car. To be able to collect as much data as possible in order to e.g. make the proper suspension set-up, additional sensors have also been fitted to the car.

Furthermore, we would like to thank our sponsors and Karlstad University for their support. We aim to position ourselves among the top fifteen teams.
Changes from last year include pneumatic gear shifting, carbon fibre suspension rods and a biodegradable impact attenuator core.
