It is true that a warm NHL body is preferred over a warm AHL body. Though I can’t quite call it an abject failure… but to this point it has been underwhelming. The jury will remain in deliberation until October. I will wait and see, but definitely with a pessimistic bent.

Agreed. I don’t get what they’re waiting on? The free agent pool is barren. They’ve currently got 3 empty spots in the bottom 6. And that’s with the assumption that they are ok with starting the year with a 3rd line of Drury/Colton/Kelly. Not terrible, but definitely nowhere near good enough.

So I guess they’re also super confident that their top 6 will be the healthy for a full year (we all know how that goes with this team). Because if 1 or 2 of those guys goes down for any length of time. You’re looking at Drury or Kelly moving up into the top 6?? And a bottom 6 of exclusively Colorado Eagles. This off – season has been an abject failure to this point.

I’m truly perplexed as to why he and Vesey are/were NOT signed to the Avs. Both seem to be great bargain options for the bottom six. Especially Kivi.

I’m not going to lose any sleep over it. But considering he’s a vet who has a bit of scoring touch & is a pretty good pk guy. I don’t get the logic in not bringing him back for under a million bucks. Especially considering it wouldn’t cost them any assets.

I sure as hell would rather have him as an option than Ivan Ivan, Matt Steinburg or whatever other scrub from Loveland they dress just so Bednar can play them less than 3 mins a night.
