Team Profile
Newcastle Racing 8 is Newcastle Unviersity’s 8th entry in Formula student. The team comprises 18 students; 8 of whom are Stage 4 MEng students and 10 of whom are stage 3 MEng students studying Mechanical Engineering. NR8 was an attempt to understand more about the principles behind electric cars. Our team sponsors include Santander Universities, Dyer Engineering of Stanley and Lamplas Polymer Engineering of Coutny Durham.
NR8 boasts its own battery management system and remote data logging facility and has also been referred to as ‘The Coffin’.
