Team Profile

Salento Racing Team was born in 2006 in University of Salento and was composed by less than 10 people. Today more than 30 students spend their efforts to bring in Europe their knowledges, capabilities and innovations. The SRT12 prototype is the last realized vehicle and its design was led by innovation and study, in special regard to composite material, and lean manufacturing. So, We designed and realized the first one-piece carbon fiber monocoque ever made by Italian formula SAE teams and to design an innovative link between carbon fiber and steel alloy for suspension rods (which avoids bonding). Furthermore special design aspects regard the telemetry and electronic system, vehicle dynamics study and Engine optimization.
