Team Profile
WhiteEagle Racing Team consists of 15 students, mainly from Mechanical Engineering department. The Team is going to participate this year with the 2ndcar in its history –the 1st one started in FS Silverstone 2010 under previous team name: SiMRTeam. In 2011 WER participated in a Class 2 competition in FS-UK, presenting a 2012 concept.
The goal for this year is to build a competitive race car by passing through every stage of development of modern engineering using CAD and FEA, focusing on reliability and minimizing weight. Utilising CNC tools in the component machining has resulted in reduction of weight up to 25 kg. Introducing a light-weight 449cc single cylinder engine, with optimised intake and exhaust system, has brought another 22 kg less. The biggest change for this year is however a new self-programmed ECU, with specific maps for each dynamic event, beta-tested for our business partner. These improvements have increased significantly a power to weight ratio of the car, effecting with higher competitiveness on the event.
Out participation is not only to bring the prestige for the University, but shall also promote our domestic motor sport and technology education amongst young people.
