UPC ecoRacing is a technological research association composed by students from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. It was established in 2008 by industrial engineering students from the ETSEIAT (Terrassa) and its main aim is to develop new technologies in the sustainable automotive field.

In July 2010, UPC ecoRacing unveiled its plug in hybrid car, the ecoR2. This year, once again, the team is betting for a hybrid powertrain for the new version of the ecoR2, combining a combustion engine and an electric motor powered by last generation Lithium batteries. With this combination the ecoR2 is able to work as a zero emissions full electric car or as a parallel hybrid.

The aim of the team is to continue learning and competing again in the original Formula Student at Silverstone with the best teams of the world.
