2017 marks the first year of participation in Formula Student for the University of Brighton – the first of many more to come!

The Brighton Racing Motors team is comprised of Automotive, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering students, who have designed and built the first University of Brighton Formula Student car as part of their final year project studies, and after lessons learnt from the build of an in-house prototype last year. The team is organised into groups focused on chassis structure, chassis systems, aerodynamics, drivetrain, and marketing. Each team member has engineering responsibility for a key area of the car. The team shares lab space with the Advanced Engineering Centre at the University of Brighton, but their aim in their inaugural year has been to build a rugged and reliable car, which is simple to set up and drive, rather than chasing lap times with carbon fibre tyre valve caps. Commercial partners include Santander (sponsors) and Family Store of Brighton (t-shirts).
