EPSA is a team from the Ecole Central de Lyon, a general engineering school in France.
The presented car, named Atomic, is only the second car built by the team.
It was designed and built from scratch by a completely new and what (was) an inexperienced team.
The car is the accomplishment of a two years project began in 2014 conducted by 21 students : first year for design, second to build, test and compete.
Our team aims at presenting a new car every year, involving that while a car is being built a new one is designed by other students one year younger.
The main goal of our design was to reduce weight and introduce the use of composite materials which were unused before, while keeping simple and controlled processes to have a safe and easy-handling car. This goal was achieved with a loss of 40 kg compared to the previous car and a carbon fibre suspension system.
