Edith Cowan University Racing is a small team from Perth, Western Australia. 2016 marks the second time the team will complete the huge trip around the globe and we are incredibly excited to compete in one of the highest ranking formula student events. In preparation for formula student UK, ECU-R has refined the concepts implemented on ‘Habibi’ that have made the team successful in its short history. Our iconic custom 4 cylinder engine, as well as our cut and fold composite monocoque provide a quality base for excellent packaging. These two systems have been the catalyst that enabled the team to produce its most aggressive aerodynamics package to date. After developing one of the fastest accelerating internal combustion FSAE cars around the world during the 2014/15 season. The 2015/16 season has seen a refinement of core concepts through our core principles of simplicity, reliability, and cost effectiveness. Through a focus on simplicity and good mechanical design the vehicle was built earlier than ever previously done. This enabled the team to apply our theory and simulation through extensive on track physical testing. After testing and redesigns we are sporting a fully prepared team excited for the challenge of the international stage. |
