Lund University in one of the oldest universities in northern Europe, with roots dating back to 1438.

Lund Formula Student’s history does not go as far back, but race cars have been built in the city of Lund since 2006. The team participated for the first time in Formula Student in 2007. This year’s team consists of 30 students from five different engineering faculties. The design focus has been on function, manufacturability and reliability. The car uses a combination of open steel space-frame and a composite body and is driven by a 600 cc Honda engine, a de-dion axel in the rear which is a first for Lund. A new aero-package has been tailored specifically for the LFS-17 car.
