Team Profile

Now entering its 18th year UBRacing continues to develop fast, light and reliable combustion vehicles. The team consists of 30 active members ranging from first to final year students over a range of disciplines including mechanical engineering, physics and materials science. UBRacing is an entirely extracurricular project and is open to any student from the University with the enthusiasm and passion to join.

Following on from previous successes an ambitious target of 525 points in Formula Student UK was set. This prompted a change to 10” wheels for the 2015 car along with a number of other developments including structural carbon panels in the chassis and a new intake and exhaust system for the Yamaha YZF-R6 engine. The team has also initiated an ambitious development plan aimed at making UBRacing the top UK team within 5 years.

UBRacing would like to thank the University of Birmingham, The Institute of Mechanical Engineers, Yamazaki Mazak UK, Delcam, ISCAR, BRP Composites, Aston Martin, Polar Technology and all our other sponsors for their vital and generous support to the team.
