On Team HARE’s 17th Class 1 entry, the team has optimised its tried and tested chassis, completely overhauled the electronics systems and for the first time, a new Triumph sponsorship has allowed HARE17’s powertrain to be complimented by a Daytona 675 engine.

The central design focus for this year has been to achieve a reliable car and consistent results through all of the dynamic events. Compared with HARE16, this year’s Formula Student vehicle uses only five similar major components; all others have been designed by students or generously supplied through sponsorship. This year’s accomplishments have been realised by a team of 52 MEng and BEng students combined from faculties at the University of Huddersfield; the largest group that Team HARE has ever had. It also has to be said that Team HARE would not have been possible on a small budget if it weren’t for this year’s extensive array of sponsors. Team HARE’s push to collaborate and form new longstanding sponsors has now resulted in 2017 exceeding all previous years in quantity.
