Team Profile:

Since the Academic Motorsports Association Zurich (AMZ) was founded in 2006 by students of ETH Zurich it has produced a prototype to compete in various «Formula Student» competitions in Europe every year. After having built three cars powered by combustion engines, the AMZ has moved forward to developing electric racing cars since 2010.

Together with this major change in drivetrain technology the AMZ was also able to expand its range by starting a successful collaboration with the University of Lucerne. Since this day the team is reinforced every year by four new electrical engineers from Lucerne.

Overall the active team counts approximately 35 people, backed by alumni who support the team with know-how and advice whenever needed.

Approximately 15-20 students of the core team are able to attend the project as part of their study in the bachelor of mechanical engineering in Zurich or electrical engineering in Lucerne. Due to this fact nearly the whole active team is swapped every year, leading to the ever present challenge and opportunity of new arguments and ideas.

After the AMZ was able to achieve its most successful season in 2014, we are very excited about this year and the upcoming events.
