DMU Mk. IV is De Montfort University’s 4th entry into Formula Student. 25 students from across the University have been involved in the team this year with the aim of building on our knowledge base to produce a lighter and more reliable car.
We are opting for the tubular steel space frame and Honda CBR600 engine combination for its proven reliability and ease of manufacture. Suspension and chassis designs have been optimised for performance and weight reduction. A new pneumatic shift system has been implemented this year to improve the car’s driveability. Where possible, British manufacturers and suppliers of components and materials have been used to support British industry on DMU Mk. IV. DMU Racing would like to extend a big thank you to all our sponsors, in particular Northampton Motorsport, Demand Engineering and Graham Goode Racing. Without all your support we could not participate in the Formula Student event.
